About Us
It all started simple — one shop in Calgary’s Chinatown, a few good recipes, and a lot of love for sharing food with friends.
our story started back in 2019.
Ami Tea & Sub opened in Calgary’s Chinatown in 2019, sparked by a dad’s dream to bring the street food flavors of his childhood to his kids — and to his new home.
Thousands of miles from where we grew up, we learned that one bite or sip — a crackly bánh mì or a bold black milk tea — can take you right back home.
Our journey so far
What started as a small family project turned into something bigger — a place where people come to eat, laugh, and feel at home. Ami became our way of sharing that feeling, one meal and one moment at a time.
After six months of late-night ideas and kitchen experiments, that dream finally came to life. Our small shop in Calgary’s Chinatown kept growing, and we’re now proud to be serving communities in five locations across Canada — three in Calgary, one in the Northwest Territories, and one in St. John, New Brunswick.
