About the dish

Lemongrass beef is a classic you’ll find all over Vietnam — from street carts to family shops — with that smoky, citrusy smell coming off the grill. It’s savoury, a little sweet, and packed with flavour from fish sauce, garlic, and crushed lemongrass.

For our Grilled Lemongrass Beef Bánh Mì, we keep that same Vietnamese marinade but use Canadian Prairies beef, known for its tenderness and clean, rich flavour. The beef is grilled until caramelized on the outside, then layered into a warm bánh mì with pickled carrots, daikon, cucumbers, cilantro, and a light spread to pull everything together.

The result is a mix of two food cultures — Vietnamese street-side flavours and the quality of Western Canadian beef — coming together in a bold, juicy sandwich.
